Congratulations to Alexis Conran! Celebrity Masterchef 2016 Winner!

Hospitality Jobs UK would like to congratulate Alexis Conran on winning Celebrity Masterchef 2016!  The Real Hustle presenter beat Jimmy Osmond and Louise Minchin in the final last Friday evening to claim the title.

The three contestants all created and produced very impressive dishes throughout the final, but it was obvious from the start that Alexis was on a slightly higher level with his Greek heritage and eye for presentation showing through.

The final saw all three contestants take on the Chef's Table challenge, hosted by Michelin star chef Atul Kochhar. Alexis took charge of the main courses with his raita and rice taking centre stage.

In the final round their task was to cook a three-course meal for regular judges Gregg Wallace and John Torode.  Alexis used his Greek roots to cook an octopus stifado as a starter, stuffed chicken with chicken livers served on bed of feta curd for main and baklava served on yoghurt condensed milk for dessert.

It was this trio of dishes that won over Gregg and John. Wallace called him a “very worthy Celebrity MasterChef winner”, and Torode praised how his food became more sophisticated as the show progressed.

Alexis said: “I can’t believe it, I have been working up to this for so long, for this one moment. I am so very happy and relieved. My family are going to be so proud.”

He added: “I was very happy with ‘finalist’ but I’ll take ‘champion’.

“‘Champion’ sounds great.”

He also tweeted "Still pinching myself.... Unreal.... Thanks to @JohnTorode1 and @GreggAWallace and everyone @MasterChefUK"
