Minneapolis St. Paul, offers home to Meritage, a Brasserie. This award-winning, chef-driven, independently-owned and operated restaurant, has become a local institution. Now, on the precipice of its 10th year, we are looking for new leadership to bring us into our next decade.

We are hiring for a front of the house manager position. Wine knowledge and passion is an absolute asset. Knowledge of and the ability to train on service standards, as well as a heart for hospitality, are also key attributes. We are a solidly busy place, so the ability to deal with volume and pressure is a must.

Locally, we offer a four-star restaurant in high regard. Regionally, Chef Russell Klein has been named a semi-finalist for the James Beard Award for Best Chef Midwest 4 times, and nationally Meritage is known for its oyster bar as well as its annual oysterfest.

We offer a stable team of true service professionals. So much so, that we need to continue to challenge them professionally by continuing to offer them new leadership whom we hope will experienced in travel, in wine, in service & hospitality.

Winter in Minnesota is packed with activities, and it's also Meritage's busy season. We are surrounded by theaters, so "pre-event" pushes add to an intensity in the dining room.

Located in one of the historic buildings in the heart of downtown St. Paul (the smaller, and more elegant of the Twin Cities). Meritage occupies a space that was built in 1919. 30ft soaring ceilings and wrought iron bones, surround this room with windows overlooking some of the most beautiful views in the city.  A snow globe in winter.

In short, we are looking for a service professional, who has a hospitality heart, who is willing to travel and interested in a new adventure. Must have chops and leadership skills, without too much ego or aggressiveness. Our staff are true professionals, and a seasoned leader will be supported by them, as they are all interested in their continued development.

Chef Russell Klein cut his teeth in New York kitchens and attended the French Culinary Institute. He spent time both in Italy and in France, then returned to some of the grandest French kitchens in New York during the early 2000's. He moved to Minnesota and took the executive chef position at WA Frost, one of the local institutions of St. Paul.  This is where he met his wife, a service captain, and they decided to open a restaurant together.

They were married in May 2007, and opened Meritage in November 2007. The restaurant has been busy, essentially, from day one. Meritage was expanded to include the oyster bar in 2010, and we have done nothing but grow sense then. This last year, 2016, has been our busiest year to date. And, 2017 on the rise and celebrating 10 years, we are really looking forward to our next steps.
